VirginMedia Port settings email

Open your Email program
Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Thunderbird etc.

Please note the menus in each will be slightly different, so use common sense to look for something similar

Click Tools --> Accounts (services or Account Settings)
Add --> Mail Account

Name : Put anything you Like in here (e.g. John Smith)

Email address : user@virginmedia.com (e.g. JohnSmith@virginmedia.com)

pop3 server : pop3.virginmedia.com

password : whatever you set it to

Click remember password checkbox

Now if you can see an Advanced button click it
or
Click Finish/OK/Close

If you didn't find Advanced Click Properties --> Advanced

On Incoming Server which is pop3.virginmedia.com
change the port from 110 to port 995
Click the checkbox to switch SSL on

On outgoing Server which is sending smtp.virginmedia.com
change the port from 25 to 465
Click the checkbox to SSL on

Click Close/Finish/OK

Test your email by clicking Send/Receive
