Build your own computer

It all seems easy when you plug your old graphics card back in to your computer and it works like a dream.

However, you know it was compatible in the first place so it's going to work this time too.

Building your own computer seems really easy when you look at the few components in your desktop tower.

If you have the time and patience don"t let the information below put you off
as the reward is a great feeling of satisfaction when it finally works, even if the experience cost you in time and usually money.

I have self-taught myself all of this and never been on a course, but I have been taking pc"s apart since around 1980.
One or 2 electric shocks on the way, and the odd burnt out computer and device, over that time.

Same result when self-teaching myself Gas and Electric maintenance in the house and I have changed radiators, boiler ignition, telephone extensions, overflow tanks etc. same thing on cars.

Now, where was I ?

Unfortunately there are a huge amount of problems which can occur when putting on new cards, RAM other devices, apart from compatibility.
Your computer is not a standard make, so yes you can upgrade the RAM, Graphics card, RAM, CPU, Motherboard etc
You can do no end of googling but still end up with the Motherboard blowing, CPU burning out, Power Supply Unit (PSU) overloaded so beware!.

Additionally, you can add devices and find they don"t work because the BIOS is out of date. Feel free to goggle BIOS and you"ll find out all about it and may even find an upgrade for your computer.

But again be careful as updating the BIOS can completely make your motherboard unusable if there is a power loss of change in power during the upgrade, hence suggest using an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) Unit"(basically power from a battery, just like a car battery)
