How to format number in Word mailmerge, Microsoft Word Mail Merge Sometimes during a MailMerge the Currency value from an Excel or other data file is displayed with more than 2 decimal places. This is because it displays the data the way it has been stored for that software. To resolve this issue do the following:- 1. Open the Word document ( before the MailMerge ) 2. Press keys Alt-F9 ( this displays special characters ) 3. To the right of the position where the currency value will display enter £{ mergeformat \# 0.00 "p2"} Many other options are possible.
